Teachings on Bodhicitta with Acharya Lama Tenpa Gyaltsen - MRC Lodge & Cabins

Mahāsiddha Retreat Centre

Overview

Please join us for MRC’s 5th Annual Open Retreat, October 11-14, 2024. We are delighted that Acharya Lama Tenpa Gyaltsen will be onsite at MRC to continue his teachings on bodhicitta, this year focusing on Compassion in Action also known as Application Bodhicitta.

We all aspire to help others. We practice the Buddhist path to cultivate bodhicitta, the qualities of compassion and wisdom. First, we make an aspiration to generate bodhicitta. Once we have a glimpse of this heart of compassion, how do we bring it into action in our daily lives? Acharya Lama Tenpa will explore this topic through a discussion of the six paramitas – generosity, discipline, patience, exertion, meditation and discriminating wisdom – as they apply to application bodhicitta. Through training in the paramitas, we begin to walk on the bodhisattva path. And, according to Gampopa’s Jewel Ornament of Liberation, training in the six paramitas is a cause of enlightenment. We begin to develop the skills to truly bring our compassion to action, thus realizing our aspiration to bring genuine happiness to ourselves and others.

This retreat is offered onsite at MRC, Nalandabodhi’s mountain retreat center, as well as online. It is a great opportunity to celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving with a heart of loving kindness under the guidance of Acharya Lama Tenpa. We hope you can attend onsite at MRC. The onsite attendance program cost has been kept low, making it as easy as possible to join in person. This program will also be open to all via Zoom.

Simultaneous Chinese translation will be available.

Recordings will be made available for a limited time.
